General Administration
Jalaun consists of five tehsil namely- Jalaun, Konch, Kalpi, Madhogarh, Orai and is headed by the District Magistrate (DM) of Jalaun. District Magistrate is the head of local government institutions in the district and is in charge of infrastructure development in his district and is also responsible for maintaining law and order.
The DM is assisted by a Chief Development Officer (CDO), Additional District Magistrates (ADM) (Finance/Revenue), one Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) one City Magistrate (CM) and all district level officers.
The district is divided into 5 sub-divisions and 09 development blocks. Each sub-division headed by a SDM and block headed by BDO.

Police Administration
Jalaun district comes under the Senior Superintendent of Police and Range is headed by Inspector General(IG).
The district police is headed by a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and is assisted one Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SP)Each of the several police circles is headed by a Circle Officer (CO) in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.
